The Kansas City Chiefs will host their third running back within a four-day span on Monday.
The team will host former Miami Dolphins running back Damien Williams for a visit on Monday. This coming after visits with former Seattle Seahawks running back’s Mike Davis and Thomas Rawls on Friday. No deals have been announced with Davis or Rawls, but the interest in Williams would suggest that the team is doing it’s due diligence with the position.
Kansas City’s projected depth chart at the position current holds the likes of Kareem Hunt, Spencer Ware and Charcandrick West, all of which have held a major role for the team in the past. A move has not been reported or rumored to this point, but the addition of a running back would suggest that Ware or West could be on the move. The likely candidate would be West in this particular case, because his playing style matches that of the visiting players.
Williams finished the 2017 season with 181 rushing yards over 46 attempts and 155 receiving yards on 20 receptions. Heading into his fifth NFL season, the former Oklahoma Sooner will likely come to a team on a prove it deal, but would be projected at a lower cap hit than West’s $2 million.
