The Kansas City Chiefs continued their flurry of moves this week by waiving defensive tackle Josh Augusta and releasing tight end Orson Charles, according to the NFL’s transaction report.
Augusta, a former Missouri Tiger, signed with the team on a futures deal in January, but following a defense-themed NFL draft, his roster spot became questionable. While at Missouri, Augusta registered 82 tackles, four sacks, three passes defensed, and two forced fumbles in 46 career games.
After spending the majority of the last calendar year with the Chiefs, Charles will be a free agent after the team traded for Cleveland Browns reserve tight end Randall Telfer on Wednesday. This past season, Charles accounted for two receptions and 53 receiving yards over five games for the Chiefs.
