We all knew that we were in trouble when the Kansas City Front Office decided to trade away All-Pro Cornerback Marcus Peters. We did add Fuller and Amerson but I believe we lack the depth needed to be a successful defensive unit.
ESPN’s Bill Barnwell is predicting the Kansas City Chiefs to go after one free agent who could add depth to the cornerback position in which they need help at. That somebody is Bashaud Breeland who is very familiar with playing alongside our new Cornerback, Kendall Fuller. Breeland had already signed a pretty nice deal but failed the physical due to a foot infection.
I think Breeland is looking for any deal at this point. The Chiefs could consider a one year-prove it deal. Will they go after someone who could help their lack of depth or is Veach happy with what they got now on defense.
In my personal opinion, however, I think Chiefs should add Breeland to a prove it deal because he could add more firepower and depth to this defense who lost an incredible playmaker in Marcus Peters. The Chiefs could also be waiting to see how preseason goes and if Breeland is still unsigned, nonetheless, add him to the roster.
Breeland is talented enough to make a big impact in Kansas City. Will the Chiefs give him a shot? They should definitely consider it.
