It’s Madden season and the 2019 player ratings have been released by EA SPORTS and you can find the complete ratings here. Now on to the Chiefs roster, which does offer some surprises. The Chiefs top 3 players will come as no surprise with Eric Berry (96 overall), Travis Kelce (95), and Justin Houston (90) rounding out the top three. Your top 14 Chiefs:
Tyreek Hill is Madden’s faster player this year hitting a 98 speed, followed by Cincinnati Bengals John Ross at 97. The biggest disappointment I have in this year’s rating is where EA sports rated Patrick Mahomes at 77 overall, while former Chief and now Redskin Alex Smith is rated 84, the Broncos Case Keenum 81, rookies Baker Mayfield 81, Lamar Jackson 79, and Josh Rosen 78, all higher than Patty Mahomes.
Here is a look at some of the QB’s listed ahead of Patrick:
Kareem Hunt comes in rated as the #8 back in the game at an 89 rating. Here is the RB rating list:
Travis Kelce was rated as the # 2 overall tight end in the game with a 95 rating overall. Here is a look at the top tight ends in Madden 19:
Overall, I am impressed with most of the ratings the Chiefs roster were given this year. With some disappointments in a few ratings, it will be easy to see the Chiefs in the mid 80’s overall as a team. I think players like James Winchester should be rated higher due to his impact on special teams and not the low (43 overall) he was rated. The offensive line also got the short end of the rating stick as well. Defensively, we should be rated fairly high with strong marks in the MLB and LOLB positions. Here are the overall ratings by position for the entire Chiefs roster listed by position:

- Running back questions? Not sure how they ended up rating multiple backs at 79, but the Chiefs have a plethora of them. It seems like the team at Madden had no idea on what to rate these guys.
Let me know what you think of the roster updates for Madden 19. Who is your team and what do you think of the ratings? Mahomes too low?
